Festivals, Bargains and Boat Work in St Martin

In this week’s episode, we have a day off from work and head to the Dutch side of St Maarten to enjoy the 2019 Heineken Regatta. The sailing boats that have participated in the races give some creative boat display – check out the crazy good captain who reverses his 50 foot boat through a bridge opening as well as a guy riding on a bike 50 feet in the air amongst rigging! Very entertaining stuff.

The day after, we head to a swap meet with other yachties and nab ourselves some bargain rope and a sextant for one of Adam’s new hobbies!

Later, we then try to fix our watermaker issues which have been ongoing since we first bought the boat. Somehow we manage to uncover more problems rather than fix them but it’s just one step closer to being a full working boat… If that’s even a thing.

Lastly, with bargains on our mind from our previous haul a few days earlier, we head to a marine chandlery and grab a second hand Rocna anchor that should put any concerns aside that our (many) viewers have previously expressed after having dragged a few times with our CQR.
